    The Exchange Club of Needham is saddened by the loss of Kevin Ryan, who recently passed away after a brief illness.

    A Needham Exchange Club member for 40 years, Kevin was a past-President and a key fixture during the 4th of July activities, whether helping out on the evening of the 3rd or directing the flow of the Parade along Highland Avenue. Kevin was also the Club's informal "chorister" leading God Bless America at the beginning of each Club meeting.

    He will be dearly missed by family and friends!

    Congratulations to Mike Logan, the recipient of the Book of Golden Deeds Award from The Needham Exchange Club!


    This award recognizes a Needham resident who has demonstrated a history of selfless contribution and dedication to the Needham community. Thank you Mike for all that you have done for our community over the years! We appreciate you!

    The Youth of the Month Award recognizes hard-working high school students who attain high levels of scholastic achievement, community involvement and leadership. This proven program not only rewards outstanding young people, but also provides an incentive for other youngsters to strive for equally high levels of achievement.


    Aadam Mulla (pictured above) has earned an impressive GPA and is a passionate learner using this passion to teach while epitomizing the meaning of volunteer. He founded a nonprofit focusing on supporting underfunded school systems, tutors homeless students and teaches math to incarcerated adults, as well as teaching Hindi to 1st and 2nd generation young Indian children. His motto is from Socrates: “The only true wisdom is in knowing you know nothing.” Congratulations Aadam!


    Brendan Schmidt (pictured above) is a senior at St. Sebastian’s and also received an impressive GPA, which included 7 AP courses. He is the winner of the Williams College Book Award and has been inducted into the Summa Cum Laude Society. Brendan demonstrates remarkable leadership skills as captain of the soccer team, president of the International Club, and as a peer educator helping younger students. He also helped establish a Team IMPACT branch at St. Sebastian’s, as part of the nationwide organization that matches college athletic teams with children who are sick or have disabilities. Congratulations Brendan!

    The Needham Exchange Club congratulates the 2023 A.C.E. (Accepting the Challenge of Excellence) Awardees Anna Rice and Jeniyah Joseph, both seniors at Needham High School.

    The A.C.E. (Accepting the Challenge of Excellence) Award recognizes high school students who have had to overcome great physical, emotional, or social obstacles and are now eligible for high school graduation.

    This program encourages students to overcome their hardships and get back on track toward a high school diploma, and it recognizes those students who are often overlooked for their accomplishments. This special recognition serves as a powerful example to all students that hard work and perseverance are rewarded.

    The Needham Exchange Club annually selects four outstanding seniors from schools in Needham to be recognized as a Youth of the Month.     The Exchange Club of Needam annually recognizes with the Book of Golden Deeds Ward community who are exemplars of our commitment to service to the community.

    This year Exchange Club recognized the extraordinary efforts made over the years by Judy Lambert.

    Judy’s has led volunteer efforts for a wide array of Needham nonprofits and service organizations. She has been a neighborhood activist, fundraiser, Girl Scout leader, and a youth and school sports booster. She has dedicated hours upon hours to St. Joseph’s CYO, the Mitchell Elementary PTC, the Town CAP, the Needham Community Council and the Charles River Center.

    It is the pleasure of the Club to recognize Judy's lifetime of service with one of the Exchange Club’s highest honors, the Book of Golden Deeds award.
