Seventy-Five years ago, Needham residents established The Exchange Club of Needham. The stated purpose was to exemplify the real meaning of "Unity for Service."

The Club’s women and men are proud of the 79 years of service they have provided to Needham. As most Needhamites know, the Exchange Club raises all of the money and provides all of the events for Needham’s 4th of July including the fireworks and parade. Town government helps in many ways, but the Club carries virtually all the costs.

Over the years the club has made many improvements to the Town, including construction of the gazebo, the tot lots at DeFazio and Claxton Fields, repair of park benches throughout the town, and clean-up of school playgrounds and green space as well as work on the trails in the Town Forest, to name just a few.
